Because 85% of the UK's voters live in England and are entitled to equity of treatment with the other 15% which has no less than three devolved bodies devoted solely to each of their respective interests.

Why should England alone not be accorded national status?

Why should England alone be subject to interference in her affairs [Health, Social Care, Housing, Education, Transport, local government etc] by representatives of the other nations and, in consequence, have policies and changes foisted on her which could not have been but for the interference of those other MPs?

Why do you ask? Do you not regard yourself first and foremost as English?

I asked in the knowledge that it IS a UKIP policy to fill Westminster with English MPs and wondered why you were asking when they were going to have a policy. That can only happen if they get ellected.

And no I dont see myself first second or third foremost as English

This largely explains why you are content for England and the English to be treated differently and adversely.

Your description of UKIP policy is not one I recognise as being official.

You need to visit the UKIP webpage for a list of their policies. You will find in the section "our policies in brief " the following statement

WE WILL BE FAIR TO ENGLAND WITH AN ENGLISH PARLIMENT OF ENGLISH MP's AT WESTMINSTER................................

Apparently though UKIP policies in some documents do not match 100% the current policy UKIP is promoting.
You are better of asking a UKIP member what the current policy is rather then reading the websites IMHO.

Default UKIP policy on an English parliament

I really do not believe that UKIP policy on this point is credible. The creation (or revival) of an English Parliament should spell the end of the Union.

UKIP seems to believe that you can have an English Parliament and a Union.

UKIP seem to want to be (quite naturally) "All things to all men" in this key area. It does not wash.

So, what does this mean? Under UKIP's current policy, are the people of England going to be offered a separate parliament and executive as have the Scots and Welsh?

I rather think not; this is what I am assuming! This is why I wrote: "This largely explains why you are content for England and the English to be treated differently and adversely."

Am I incorrect? If I am, I will happily withdraw my remarks! Moreover, I will investigate the prospects of becoming a UKIP member!

For the avoidance of doubt, I am relieved to have confirmation of your concerns about England. It seems that our differences here then are about the solutions.
