Most Englishmen - of a certain generation perhaps - would prefer the real Joanna Lumley to lie down...

By coincidence (in view of her becoming a part of the subject of this new thread) Joanna Lumley (the Joanna Lumley who starred in 'The New Avengers' and not the one flying the English Democrat flag at Greenwich-Lewisham in next month's London Assembly Elections) was on the BAFTA awards programme shown on BBC 1 Television last night (she announced the winner of one of the award categories).
London Mayoral Election 2008 candidates: Richard Barnbrook - British National Party, Gerard Batten - UK Independence Party, Siân Berry - Green Party, Alan Craig - Christian Peoples Alliance and Christian Party , Lindsey German - Left List, Boris Johnson - Conservative Party, Ken Livingstone - The Labour Party, Winston McKenzie - Independent, Matt O'Connor - English Democrats, Brian Paddick - Liberal Democrats. Full details of the London Mayoral and Assembly candidates for the 1.5.2008 London Elections at: London Elects - The candidates and in posting number three at: UKIP Gerard Batten London mayor Election Broadcast |

Does anyone else find it ironic that the English Democrats have selected a Spanish piano tuner here? No doubt part of the Rainbow Alliance of the Worlds Peoples who inhabit the geographical landspace of England and are then immediately English.
![]() By the way Andrew Constantine is right about Joanna Lumley, a true English rose even though she was born in India! ![]() |

Being English is not a matter of colour or even place of birth, but more a matter of attitude! The most pernicious thing done by successive governments since 1976 is to give precedence to foreign cultures over and above that of the indigenous, established community. - |

As for the 'real' Joanna Lumley I shouldn't think there's much left once she has removed her makeup. |
