Default Dual membership

I know a lot of UKIP members who are also members of the Tory party, although those holding dual membership are not allowed to hold branch office.

What is the English Democrat position on dual membership?

Why would any person want to be a member of 2 political parties at the same time? Talk about jumping on the bandwagon! It does not shock me to hear that about UKIP members. Everyone knows your bog standard UKIPer is a Tory, and as such is spineless and knows nothing about loyality!

I am not a member of the English Democrats, but the answer to your question lies in their constitution:

3 MEMBERSHIP

3.1 Membership of the Party is open to all UK citizens (those), aged 16 years or over, who broadly agree with its aims, objectives, and policies.

3.2 Membership can be acquired by anyone, whatever their ethnicity, religion or culture, who:

a) has affirmed in writing his or her intention to join the English Democrats Party;

b) is willing to further the aims of the party;

c) is not a member of any political party or body contesting elections in opposition to the English Democrats Party;

d) agrees to bide by the Constitution and Standing Orders of the party;

e) has been accepted into membership by the National Council;

f) has paid the annual membership fee, as determined from time to time by the National Council

If you have a question about ED policy you should go to their website and email them for an answer, not ask on an open forum.

Given one vote, who do they vote for when each party has a candidate standing?

I suspect that if UKIP expelled card carrying Tory members, we would lose thousands of members (and one or two MEPs!).

Hence UKIP is nothing more than a 'naughty step' for a bunch of Tories who have thrown a tantrum.

I feel sorry for the UKIP members/supporters/voters who think UKIP is a serious independent political party.

That is an unjustified assumption!

If you are going to have a pop at UKIP, at least furnish some evidence rather than supposition.

I have none

But I know everyone who has England in their heart supports any party with England at heart.

Even God himself votes for the EDP, but, again I lack the evidence and if I did have the evidence, God would vanish as God only exists because there is no evidence of his existence.

May I further add, what is your evidence that it isn't the fastest growing English political party? I don't recall many other English parties in the last, say, 300 years?

Out of kindness, I will refrain from describing this post. However, permit me to point out that usually the burden of proof does not rest upon proving a negative; quite the reverse.

We seem to have established that your slogan about the EDP being the fastest growing party is likely to be fictitious. Extravagant claims do not add to a party's credibility.
