What a stupid post. At that time in 2006 I was for a federal UK.
It was the Sunday Telegraph poll of 26/11/06 showing an increase in public support for independence, which made me change my position. And when I changed, so did RTL.
Simple as that.
I would think that being an EDP Member and making an attack on another Nationalist party is silly at the very least.
In fact,I would look at someone who did that with great suspicion, regardless of which of the 2 parties they are in.
The easiest way to damage the English Nationalist cause is to join one of those parties and openly attack the other one, therefore, greatly damaging both parties, and of course, the English Nationalist cause itself.
Both party Leadership Members should be very wary of such a person IMHO.

Martin I think that just about sums up his posts.
Let's get some facts straight here

It clearly demonstrates that Richard Atkins Secretary of the Free England Party, in 2006 believed the best policy for the English Democrats was for a Federal UK.
Now, Richard Atkins is perfectly entitled to change his opinion on this policy, but what is not required is a consistent "slagging off" of the English Democrats just because we have stuck to the policy we had, that was DEMOCRATICALLY AGREE by the General Membership, and reconfirmed in September 2007, DEMOCRATICALLY.
I have plently more e-mails to demonstrate the floors in character & consistency of Atkins, Constable and Thompson, I trust these will not be necessary to be published.
English Democracy - A Cause - not just another "Brit" Political Party
Do you happen to have a link to that article in the Sunday Telegraph of 26.11.2006 Northumbrian please? I am not doubting what you write, by the way. I remember seeing the article at the time (I read the Sunday Telegraph) and would like a copy of the opinion poll result.
I remember that there was another such opinion poll at the end of last year in the Sunday Telegraph which showed rising support in England for Britishness (the poll appeared during a week in which the Telegraph had been writing about Britishness in view of Gordon Brown's call for a stronger British identity). A UKIP friend of mine who thinks the Union of the UK is "finished" said of the late 2007 poll which reported larger support in England for Britishness: "I don't believe it."
You persist in making these claims about what allegedly went on in your AGMs, but there are no official, published records of that which, itself, regrettably calls in question claims of being democratic, open and accountable.
