The Birmingham postcode area has – for the second year running – has topped the list of those localities backing calls for St. George’s Day (23rd April or the nearest Monday to it) to be made a Bank Holiday in England – says the St. George’s Unofficial Bank Holiday organisation (according to a report in the Tamworth Post).
The Staffordshire town of Tamworth (part of the Birmingham postcode area) will be holding celebrations of St. George’s Day in the grounds of Tamworth Castle (on 26.4.2008): icTamworth - Family fun at the castle |
