Local Election in Newcastle

The candidates for the Fawdon Ward are:

Brenda Hindmarsh, Lib Dem

Catherine McKinnell, Lab

Martin Joseph Thompson, Free England Party

Stephen Warrick, Con

I'm quite lucky not having to compete against the minor parties as well. I'm looking for a share of the vote of 11.5% or higher.

The only thing a little worrying is that the main local newspaper shows the party name as 'FEP'.

How would people know what that stands for? They would certainly have a good idea if the party name was shown in full.

Don't worry. You've got your full party name on the ballot paper plus logo!

I'm reminded for some obscure reason of the old Wilf Pickles exhortation of: " 'Ave a go Joe!"

They've probably used 'FEP' for the very reason you are unhappy about it! Look on the bright side - voters might wonder what it stands for, and make a point of finding out. Presumably, the full name is on your nomination form and that is probably accessible on-line? (You could always include a link in your election leaflets!)

I agree with the above.

Nothumbrian has done great work for the party and I hope for will do his locality and country.

Just hope the local voters realise what a great Representative you will be for them.

Thank, though I think Kentishman is being a bit optimistic with 2 leaflet drops.

Finding a spare 80 hours on top of a full-time job is just a little too much.
