Yes, I think the posters are somewhat crude, but something needs to be done to break down the log-jam that passes for political campaigning in England involving the mass media. The BBC and other mass media bodies seem determined to keep the same old two or three parties' candidates in the frame whilst virtually excluding all the others in varying degrees! The BBC has invited Livingstone and Paddick onto Radio Four's "Any Questions?" and, presumably bumbling Boris has also been invited but may well have been 'advised' to decline the offer for fear of making gaffes! What kind of politicking is that? Concealing information about the true nature of candidates is dishonourable and voters are entitled to see what a fool or otherwise he actually is for themselves! It seems well down the same road which Magabe has trodden but he's progressed well into vote rigging now! There should be a level playing field for the mayoral elections, at least. All the candidates for that office should be given a run. Let the voters see them before they vote! In the meantime, full marks to the EDP for being so adventurous. As far as I'm concerned, they are only advertising what I and many other aggrieved people in England think! __________________________ Last edited by cassie; 28-03-2008 at 05:34 PM. |

Ok, the posters complain about the money doled out to Scotland, unfortunately they say nothing about what the EDP are going to do with it. In true EDP fashion, its more whingeing and no positives.
And that is the problem. From my time with the EDP, it was always about moaning about the situation England finds itself in, and no real substance about how it should be addressed. I used to have conversations with various members about taking a different approach, but nothing was ever done. that is where Free England are different. we want to tell people how we can improve their lives and their country. We are not into constant complaining. We like to think we are a party of positive action. We would never dream of putting up these kind of posters. Matt should be telling people about what he is going to do to make things better for Londoners, for example, public transport, the congestion charge, public safety etc. not this kind of rubbish.
