I think this 20 year-old girl is tremendous for a young one. She has been criticised for not being profound but what do they expect at her age? She writes her own stuff and has a vocal style of her own. This girl is great.
Far superior to the over rated degenerate, hag Amy WHitehouse. This is another aspect of the Cultural Marxist agenda, Frith, to destroy our young people by offering degraded role models. Amy Winehouse I had never heard of until she broke through the miasma of my world in the recent drug related business. So I paid a bit more attention and started watching her. Like Michael Jackson in many ways, really good and containing the deathly constituent of the contemporary media celebrity brew. It literally destroyed Jackson who is a good singer and a quite magical dancer. Think what he could have been if they hadn't made him believe he needed to become a white girl. He is going to become one of showbiz's tragic makeovers.

They are talented people who aren't delivering their particular gifts without the descent into decay. It's tragic. And it doesn't say much for their audiences. Sometimes, like George Michael, another brilliant artist, they make a song or two from the wellspring of their own talent and it's never a hit but is often better than anything foisted on the masses.

I think megastars like Freddy Mercury and Queen were among the last to be able to make their mark as individuals. Freddy created mixes of classic and contemporary as well as new work that was the direct descendant of the powerful British tradition of popular music. That strand is fraying to a break, alas. U2 were going along well until they were forced to become globalised. It killed them as individual talents. It nearly killed The Status Quo in the seventies but they managed to get by and are still performing. The Bee Gees, some of the world's greatest songwriters, had to sing like disco queens in order to keep going. They managed it, but it was sad to see them forced into this.

Amy MacDonald is a return to the past and a tradition, so she and others like her are effectively rewinding those frayed strands and remaking that tradition. I hope she survives. Her protest is not making itself part of the ugliness but rather using the tradition to find a voice.

On Saturday I spoke to about 100 people in Bromley High Street.

Not one of them commented on the "Banter" on this Forum, I believe that some (Danny) people get the importance of Forums out of proportion.

As for Lambeth - nothing to do with me personally on this one, as although I am managing the London Mayoral & Assembly Campaign, this by-election was not something I personally signed off, certainly an unfortunate result, our local activist, for some bizarre reason decided to print his own leaflets on his desk top printer in black and white rather then distribute the 6,000 leaflets he had been given.

I think he has learnt an important lesson.
