Not the strongest of areas for the English Democrats, but an area where we have a passionate activist.

You know it is so easy to scoff at others who put their heads above the parapet so to speak, but it takes a certain amount of courage and determination to expose oneself to public opinion. One has only to consider the numbers of those pledging that they will stand as candidates in 'the next election', who go on to find one excuse after another not to do so as the closing date for nominations draws closer!!
![]() In my opinion, it is even tougher for an English nationalist to put himself and the case for England forward in an area like Lambeth. I can only record my admiration, and express the hope that Polenceus receives the support he needs and has asked for to conduct his election campaign. A good result here will have a disproportionate and positive effect elsewhere in London and beyond! All power to yer elbow lad!!! ![]() __ |

Why don't you put his name on this website. I think this is a great idea. We need publicity for local democracy!

Matt O'Connor might want to consider whether it would enhance his image as a serious contender to become Mayor of London by pitching in - if only on one day - to help Janus in his Lambeth Borough Council campaign?
It might even provide him with another photo opportunity! Is it likely that Boris or Ken will do that for their respective party candidates? I think not! Just a thought . . . ![]() __ |

As our BNP 'pals' are putting the knife in and twisting it at the moment I just thought I would say I am sorry that the ED candidate was unable to attract greater support in this by-election. I might have expected a few more votes for the EDs here but Kentishman is quite correct that this was not a strong area for them. I doubt that UKIP would have done substantially better than the ED candidate and if I had been a resident of that ward I would probably have voted for him.

It seems one of those tough wards for English nationalism, here are some stats form the last Census 2001 in the Vassall ward...
Population - 13,172 White British - 5,125 Black or Black British: Caribbean - 2,295 Black or Black British: African - 2,325 Black or Black British: Other Black - 420 Chinese or Other Ethnic Group - 377 Chinese Or Other Ethnic Group: Chinese - 174 Chinese or Other Ethnic group: Other Ethnic Group - 203 and this is just a snippet of the mix in that Ward, which is 7 years ago now, so it must have grew with more of a mix with the recent mass immigration influx. Just like the whole of London concerning the London elections and nationalist parties standing, you are looking at aprox half of the electorate at the least being non English for starters, (Yes some may state Black British, but this clearly means nothing much concerning being English does it?) which has the potential of loosing you half of your nationalist vote before you start! This will also be the task that the BNP will face in the London elections, and it will even be tough for them due to the mass of immigration. But having taken the mixed population into acount in the Lambeth borough of Vassell, the English Democrats push the CIVIC nationalism and stood a civicly English candidate, hence the non English name, as they have done before, and this is where this CIVIC nationalism aproach should come into effect, but it is clear to see that the majorety of immigrants do not wish to be recognised as being affiliated with the English, which is something I have pointed out to the EDP many times, with deep concern. I aplaud them on trying this aproach on English nationalism politically, as we need to hit this current anti English system from all angles, although I do not think it will work, as unlike in Scotland and Wales, this civic nationalist politics, sadly doesn't seem to be working in England. It seems that the English are looking for something more radical maybe and the majorety of immigrants don't give a stuff about taking on any form of English identity never mind supporting the English cause politically. I would of thought that by now, the EDP have realised this and took a different more radical stance. I hope they could change these results, and prove me wrong in the near future as time is running out, but I fear they will not and never change their stance. I wish the EDP all the best, and would like them to know that this is not an attack on them, its just a point of view which can be debated and proved wrong as adults.
