I have today put links on my charming website to the above.
Now when I go to their Organisation page it shows the graphic map
of the 9 regions.

I was surprised I though the 9 regions were a EU construct?

The Free England Party is a nationwide organisation overseen by a National Executive Council. We are organised into nine regions, each headed by a regional co-ordinator.

Our operational areas are:

East Anglia
East Midlands
London
North East
North West
South East
South West
West Midlands
Yorkshire & Humber

Within these regions are county branches that are at the heart of our party.

Hello HFP

Many thanks for doing that, we will reciprocate when we have a links page set up. Yes, we do have the regions map on there, but we did that because it just seemed a convenient map to use at the time, besides, I dont think Joe Public have a clue about that map! I think the EDP use something similar. It is also useful for next year's Euro elections too.

Regards
Richard

Are you going to use EU text? Sorry I find it VERY STRANGE you use a map from "the national site of the Government Office Network - your first port of call for information on the work of the Government Offices for the English Regions."

Hopefully, once you get established you could organise on a (traditional?) county basis, perhaps?

I believe that if the web guys could have found a decent county map then they would have used it. Unfortunately the website was put up as soon as possible so we had to make do.

I guess if we could find a useable map we would. Any suggestions? We are planning to appoint 9 regional co-ordinators who will then set out to organise country branches. We are vehemently anti-EU, but just used that map for convenience that's all. I hope in time and quickly, we can move towards using county maps instead.

Hope that helps.

Regards
Richard

When you've got MEPs elected you will need to get used to the government/EU defined Regions.

Why are you surprised?

Are you one of those who thinks that political parties organisation should take no account whatsoever of the actual political administration of the nation?

Wise political parties recognize that they live in the real world and, regardless of whether or not they approve, the malign, unrepresentative people in power in Westminster have actually seen fit to impose unwanted regions on England without the prior consultation enjoyed by voters in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Only someone being unduly, and impractically precious would opine 'surprise' at a party's structure taking account of reality. Do tell: what great principle has been breached by shadowing actual institutions?

Good point, Cassie. You have to use contempory maps to avoid confusion. Some one from Bournemouth would think of joining the Dorset branch, not realising historically he's from Hampshire. Same for Peterborough. Most people think it's in Cambridgeshire, not realising historically it's in Northants.
And also some local authority areas cross over old county boundaries.
