It was a simple question.

I guess you are another of those who wants to dump responsibility for the acts of others in another age on those of us in the present? You know, like your daft compatriot who apologised for slavery - done by other people on other people!

Move on!

Calm down!

Can you please point out where I said that I place responsibility on the current population?

I'm waiting.

I do not criticise English or British history.

There are anti-English and anti-British people about doing enough of that already.

I support both England and the UK: we have done so much for the world in terms of spreading democracy; starting and helping build up some of the greatest cities and nations in the world and we have done so much in other areas too. The British nation has also produced some of the world's greatest inventors/inventions and we did more than most to win freedom for nations in europe in two world wars and during the 'cold war' when communists occupied many lands.

How dare anyone criticise us.

We deserve a great big THANK YOU from much of the rest of the world.

I don't wish to chuck a spanner into the works.......

But weren't the Tudors Welsh? Which quite clearly means that the Tudors with a largely Welsh contingent in their army actually militarily conquered England.

Which means that Wales actually took control of England centuries after the earlier success of the English over Wales!

And still stand as the undisputed reigning champs of England Wales takeovers.

Once again you go off at a tangent! What has this to do with the BBC pushing Welsh self-government?

However, as you insist, here are a few questions for you:

1. How do you define 'your nation' here?

2. Would you praise your nation's history? If so, why? If not, why not?

2. Why would you be critical of your nation's history?

3. What is your definition of British history?

4. What is your definition of Scottish history?

5. If not apparent from your answers to 3. and 4., how do they differ?

Just seeking to clarify your simple questions.

No - England took control of Wales with the statute of Rhuddlan in 1284. The Tudors 'allowed' the Welsh to attend the English Parliament.
