"Brown to set up Scottish Commission to give even more power to Scotland"
Gordon Brown is to set up a Scottish Constitutional Commission at the expense of UK (mostly English) taxpayers which would give more power to the Scottish Parliament it (the Daily Telegraph reported on 16.1.2008).
Brown is using the excuse that such a body would help stop the Scottish ‘National’ Party (SNP) from breaking up the UK.
The Commission was backed at a meeting at Westminster of leading Labour, Conservative and Liberal ‘Democrat’ politicians who were reported to be concerned at the electoral successes of the SNP.
Britannist adds: Brown's Lie-bour Party is determined to stop England having her own Parliament for it fears that it would never be able to get a majority of its own in one (Labour got less votes than the Conservatives in England at the last General Election).
Most campaigners for an English Parliament say that if England doesn’t get equality with Scotland and a Parliament of her own to match the one Scotland has, the Union of the UK will fall apart anyway because the people of England will cease to support it if the English are not treated fairly in it.
