LOL...I'm actually half-Geordie.

Although living in Newcastle, I don't use 'Tyne and Wear', because it was set up as an administrative county, but as the 'county' council was abolished...
... then for what purpose does it exist? |

Good question - 'Tyne and Wear' and all the Heath-created artificial council names (i.e. 'Avon', 'West Midlands', 'Merseyside' and 'Humberside') should be removed from usage everywhere. 'Merseyside' should be returned to Lancashire, 'Humberside' to Yorkshire and Liincolnshire and so on.

My great and late friend Tommy, was a Geordie.
He died in a car crash some years ago - actually thought to have resulted from a fatal heart attack prior to the crash. I still miss him. We were colleagues and near neighbours. He was one of a kind. I'd get an email from him....."I wanted to write a short letter but I didn't have time so I have written a long one...." He described Geordies as Scots but without the generosity. He was a gentleman to the last and it seems to me that's a dying breed. |

I got 47 of the 48. I agree though it's not the historic counties i.e. Westmorland and Huntingdonshire for example are not there. The one I missed was city of London. I typed in Great London and because it appeared over London figured I'f got that one right lol.
The Duchy of Richmind doesn't seem to be on there anymore either ![]() Ea of dune |

It's not a very good game. It ask for some place called the "West Midlands" which has gone down the drain. I know, of course, that the Queen was asked to make this hybrid a "ceremonial" county but this is not a game that those of us wanting our proper counties back would bother to take seriously.
Warwickshire will be back, in all its glory! |
