Yes, 5th November is an interesting choice - although the actual Bank Holiday would, of course, have to be held on the nearest Monday to it (when 5th November were not on a Monday).

If we were to have a holiday in the autumn, I think it would have to be Trafalgar day, October 21st.

Well, that is about halfway between the end of August Bank Holiday and the next one which is Christmas Day.

The gap where there is no Bank Holiday between the end of August and Christmas Day certainly needs to be filled.
