The English Democrats is a modern party - average age is 44. I suspect that the average age of members in UKIP is closer to 64. UKIP wish to live in the past, believing that there is still a British Empire.

I expect that the profiles of the memberships of both UKIP and the English Democrats are similar and that members of both parties hold similar views on most issues.
Both UKIP and English Democrat members are pro-England and both want the EU to stop meddling in the affairs of our country. Because UKIP and English Democrat people are both for England and for recovering our sovereignty lost to the EU, that I want the two parties to work together as and where they can. I want to avoid duplication of resources and the splitting of the anti-EU and pro-England vote at election time. ![]() |

I wasn't in the diplomatic core, but thank you Kentishman
.I am convinced UKIP and the English Democrats can and will see the benefits of co-operating. A very Happy Christmas to you. ![]() Last edited by Britannist; 22-12-2007 at 01:09 AM. |

How many English Democrats are there compared to UKIP members? I for one am totally pro United Kingdom. There are three separate Countries all on the same small Island, England , Wales and Scotland. It's my opinion for what its worth it would be detrimental for all three if the Union was broken. Ireland is totally different, they are a separate Island and the north and south in my opinion should be united as one Country.

The nations of Haiti and the Dominican Republic occupy two separate halves of the same island - but it would be considered ludicrous to suggest that because they share the same island they must merge. The same applies to Malaysia, Indonesia and Royal Brunei - all three have territory on the same island but no one would make the foolish suggestion that all three must merge their territory in that area just because they share an island. ![]() |

And I support the UKIP policy of abolition of the present Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assemby with their duties being given to Scottish and Welsh constituency MPs in the Commons who would meet in Scotland and Wales to deliberate on Scottish/Welsh domestic matters with English constituency MPs dealing with specifically English matters in the House of Commons during the absence of the Scottish/Welsh/Northern Irish constituency MPs. That is the official UKIP policy on devolution and how to answer "The English Question". I support that UKIP policy Kernow. Do you? ![]() |

I believe that there are currently about 16 times more UKIP members than members of the English Democrats (i.e. UKIP has 16, 000 members).
But there are also far more members of the Church of England than Methodists but this has not stopped the two Churches discussing working together (and some talking about a possible merger in the long term). What I am calling for is co-operation between UKIP and the English Democrats to avoid splitting the anti-EU and pro-England vote. Although UKIP is much larger than the English Democrats - there remains the possibility at election time that UKIP could win, let's say 500 votes in a particular ward, but still miss winning that local council ward by, let's say, 10 votes, because the English Democrat candidate in the same ward got 30 votes - votes which could and most probably would have gone to UKIP had there been no English Democrat candidate in that ward. It is this sort of thing I seek to avoid happening. It also works the other way - the English Democrats would do far better fighting a local council ward if there was no UKIP candidate standing in that ward and if UKIP advised any members/supporters it has in that ward to vote for the English Democrats. UKIP and English Democrat voters are all pro-England and all against the threat the EU poses to this country. ![]() |
