As I predicted some time ago, the next ideological debate in the UK, will be Unionism v Nationalism.
Left v Right is a thing of the past !

There you have it from the horses mouth.A leading EDP figure as he has done in the past saying its Nationalists v Unionists. There you have it RJT the EDP SNP and plaid cmyru.THERE AGENDA TO DESTROY THE UNION That indeed confirms the EDP support the SNP why would they share platforms with them.and post SNP properganda on here because there real intention is to destroy the Union along with there Nationalist freinds. I wish people would wise up and catch themselves on to the real EDP agenda. We as Pro Union People must face up to the SNP and EDP and expose them.

Hey reg
Calm down, it's almost Christmas ! At the beginning of the 20th Century, the main political parties "ignored" the Irish Issue. It resulted in most of Ireland leaving the UK (personally I regret this). What is needed is a fair "Federal UK" settlement - now, this means that the main parties have to talk about a sensible solution NOT keep on ignoring the issue. This is the only way of saving the Union - and will probably result in a Federal UK. However, if nothing is done, (ie a fair constitutional settlement) the UK will split into it's component parts. I personally favour a UK with Home Affairs devolved and Foreign Affairs and Defence, covered by a British Parliament. (The British put this system into both Canada & Australia and it works !)

Some in the English Democrats DO want an end to the Union.
However our official position as confirmed at the last AGM in Leicester in September 2007 is that we want a Federal UK with fiscal automony. (This is my personal position as well) However, those who want to preserve the Union at "ALL COSTS TO ENGLAND" , will force a situation where England (representing 85% of the UK population) will no doubt go it's own way. Wise up if you are a Unionist, you need to compromise, otherwise the Union will dissappear !

They wont bring Salmond down. The reason:
The Tories get more out of an SNP minority administration than they would out of a Labour one. Labour are plain awful and have a complete distrust of working with the Tories. The Liberal Democrats are willing to work with everyone, but nobody wants to work with them (they are typical power grabbers). So on domestic policies the parties that can make a difference actually have the best possible situation from their current seat numbers that they could want (bar Labour). As for the independence issue - they will veto this every single time it comes up in parliament. Bob's your uncle!

You are posting on the Section that says "English Demcorats", I not too sure how it could be made any clearer. I rarely post on other parts of this forum these days - that's was the Agreement with Anthony Butcher.
