The EDP are the English version of the SNP.They are as much danger to the Union as the SNP and the welsh Nationalists.

Default Opinion poll, Union of the UK, Unionist, Scotland, England

I was pleased to read last week that the latest opinion poll (in the Telegraph) shows that support for the Union in England is strong and that the people of England want fair treatment in the UK.

The debate, as far as I am concerned, is not about ending the Union of the UK (I am a Unionist) - it is about saving the Union of the UK by giving equality to the people of England with Scotland in the UK and thus stemming a possible rising tide of support in England for England quitting the UK because the Union is currently unfair to England.

Thank you for your agreement and kind words on this subject, Reg.

Yes, there are some English Democrat Party (EDP) members who are Unionist (i.e. support the maintenance of the Union of the UK) and some members of the EDP who would not choose to be classified as such.

The EDP contributors to this forum include both Unionist English Democrats (who favour the Union of the UK but want some form of English Parliament within the UK) and those English Democrats who do not appear to think much of the Union of the UK and who might not object to the Union of the UK dissolving.

My understanding is there are now quite a few x UKIP people in the EDP which seems strange. But I do however think the English Democrats are playing with fire sharing platforms with the vile SNP.

Where there is unity and in my opinion, most importantly, is the establishment of an English Parliament.
What Scotland, Wales or N. Ireland want to do is a matter for them and them alone.
This moronic government can't find the money to educate our English students but can find billions of £s to shore up a fcuking bank, more billions of £s to fight illegal Fcuking wars all over the place, more billions of £s to subsidise half of fcuking Europe, more billions of pounds to ensure that their country folk aspire to and obtain better social sevices, etfcukingcetera.
All you can spout about is the equivalent of the porochial fcuking parish of the UK.
Get out and get a fcuking life.

The one thing that has struck me reading the English Democrats section on this forum are the many reasons for people not join the EDP it really puts you off them. The post above is a classic example of why not to join the EDP.

A point I made at one time on the COSG Forum, and got bounced off it for my pains!

I have found the quality of postings on this forum to be generally much better than that on the English nationalists forums - I regret to have to say.

I completely agree. It makes it very difficult for those in UKIP who want to build co-operation links with the English Democrats (to avoid splitting the anti-EU and pro-England vote at election time) to persuade UKIP members (all of whom are UK Unionists of one kind or another) to support 'working with' the English Democrats (EDs) when they (the EDs) go and invite someone from the europhile and anti-UK Scottish so-called 'National' Party (SNP) to address their 2007 annual conference.

If the EDs wish to avoid splitting the anti-EU vote they should do us a favour and disband.
