I think you will see a change in policy towards the EUssr by the SNP in the new year

I thought the English Democrats position was for the Union. Why do leading people post on here more or less willing and urging the scottish people to go for Independence.I think it suggests the EDP are really hiding behind a smoke screen with there real intention is of ending the Union. So they wont get blamed and there true policy is for English Independence.I just wish they would be honest enough to tell people there true policy

The so called English Democrats IMHO let the cat out of the bag when they had the SNP (who want a broken UK at all costs) present to speak at their conference meeting this year.

I really believe that if the EDs came out and told everyone that they want England to be on it's own and break up the UK that they would increase their numbers.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG IN TELLING THE TRUTH,THE EDs SHOULD TRY IT.

This would bring THE REAL UNIONISTS out in force to finally swell their numbers as well I believe.

I agree with the above two posts. The EDP must come clean on there true policy instead of pretending they want England to be in the Union. When we all know there true policy is for English Independence. They dont fool anyone with there present stance.

Where, exactly, does it commit the EDP to maintaining the Union? Indeed, where does it say anything about the continuance or otherwise of the UK?

As there's nowt there about these particular aspects, I'm not really surprised by your irritable posting and feeble attempt at evasion!

There is no doubt that inviting an MP tipped by some as a possible future leader of the anti-UK europhile Scottish so-called 'National' Party (SNP) to speak at their annual conference (in September 2007 in Leicester) gave the impression that the English Democrats are quite happy to deal with someone who wants to break up the Union of the UK and someone who sits as an MP in a party which wants to destroy the ancient Scottish Pound and submerge the Scottish part of Great Britain into an EU Superstate.

I cannot foresee the europhile Scottish so-called 'National' Party (SNP) becoming an anti-EU party (or even a eurosceptic one).

Any criticisms the SNP have made about the EU (i.e. over the damaging EU fishing policy) have been made by that party for political, electoral and tactical reasons (i.e. fear of losing votes to genuinely eurosceptic or anti-EU candidates/parties) and not because the SNP is at all, in any way, against the EU.

Most people in the SNP would rather shut their party down than see it go eurosceptic. The SNP is the political arm of the EU in Scotland. The main policy of that party - apart from getting Scotland out of the UK - is to support the EU Superstate now under construction.
