Default THE question in the British Parliament

Graham Brady (Altrincham & Sale West, Conservative)

Why should my [English] constituents pay more tax so that the Prime Minister's [Scottish] constituents pay no prescription charges?

Gordon Brown (British Prime Minister)

The Welsh Assembly made a decision on prescription charges, and the Scottish Parliament made a decision. They make decisions within their own budgets [budgets provided by English Tax Payers!], and their budgets are allocated under a formula agreed by both parties in this House over the past 30 years. No more money goes to Scotland or Wales as a result of their decisions on prescriptions. That is the Barnett formula that has been agreed by all parties [Not the English Democrats] over the years. [Interruption.] If the Conservative party wishes to change its policy it should tell us now, but its policy throughout has been to support this funding formula.

Engagements: 24 Oct 2007: House of Commons debates (TheyWorkForYou.com)

Gordon - give the English people a referendum on an English Parliament Now !!!!!!!!!!

Methinks G Brown is going to get a lot more of THAT before he's much older!

I also suspect that K*ntishman is a plant . . . promoting a Conservative MP!!!!!

. . . as well as supermarket trolleys, of course.

Thumbs down Halfway to a sinecure - GORDON BROWN!

British prime Minister - part-time Scottish MP! Taking full salary, of course. Fine way for a Presbyterian to behave!

Doh! That's because:-
a) you didn't exist when the barnett formula was agreed
b) you have no MP's anyway even if it were to be brought to commons tomorrow.
