Constitutional reform should be fair

I do not want to go over ground in detail now, which has been well explored by this forum before. But in the media coverage of possible changes to the UK constitution, I am not seeing references to the UK calling a constitutional convention.

Changes to the constitution affect all and should be agreed by all (or a majority thereof). This should be common ground to all parties. But is not being mentioned at present. Perhaps the media coverage of the SNP Annual Conference, Brown's proposed changes to the constitution and the Tories proposals for an English Grand Committee show that the media and politicians are now keen to run with this issue. With time, perhaps these masters of ours may even show some commonsense and democratic accountability ...

No doubt all of the said issues will be resolved in and by Parliament, not the people.

Having heard Alex Salmond give his conference speech I wouldn't bet on it, especially the bit about a referendum on independence in this parliament.
It could get interesting and I never thought I'd say that about politics.

That's Salmond and Scotland. I can't see Broon doing the same in England.
