Support Cornwall as an independent state? Is that a joke?

Neither Mebyon Kernow nor the English Democrats Party are credible.
The former because an independent Cornwall is not viable. Even if it succeeded in removing itself from being part of England, it would require support from another source. The latter because it accords no rights nor fairness to its members. Probably because it is managed by those who finance it. A political party should practice the values it professes to promote. If it does not, it does not merit support, but rather opposition for the deleterious standards it embodies in practice. These standards will be amply demonstrated by English Democrats' reaction to this posting, which will be to attack me rather than to address the issues I've raised here. ![]() |

(Incidentally, I believe I'm right in saying that Mebyon Kernow is a bigger party with more councillors than the English Democrats). |

I was most disappointed to read that an MP from the Scottish so-called 'National' Party (SNP) was allowed to speak to the English Democrat conference at Leicester last weekend. When I complained on the pages of the forum about an SNP person speaking to the ED conference someone who presumably supported the decision to allow the MP to speak at the conference replied giving as the the excuse the fact that the SNP MP "is a nice man". |

I assume that you are a Democrat ? In which case you will respect those who have a different view then yourself. We had 4 Political Parties represented at the English Conference 1 English Demcorats 2 Scottish National Party - SNP 3 UKIP 4 Liberal Party ================================================ Our aim as English Democrats is to "Put England First" we will do whatever it takes to achieve our policy of an English Parliament. 3 of these parties have a Euro-Sceptic Stand 3 of these parties would back an English Parliament within a Federal UK 2 of these parties believe in self determination of the English and Scottish people It's only by talking to people that you can determine what common ground you have.
