I stood in Bromsgrove last May but was repeatedly petitioned not to do so by the Conservatives who thought that if we didn’t win the seat, we would "split the vote and let Labour in" (in ultra-safe Tory Bromsgrove!) But just as importantly, because the Conservative candidate, Mr. Sajid Javid, was a "profound Eurosceptic". Well, not that Eurosceptic it seems, as on July 14, 2010 in the Commons, Mr Javid MP voted with the Government in favour of the establishment of the European Union External Action Service.
