I would be pleased if UKIP breach the 10% mark, they have been at 5% nationally in various polls this month and after the Oldham by election they have clearly stated their position as 4th largest party in the UK, could possibly even see 3rd if the LibDems drop another 2-3%!

UKIP are apparently on a roll, so I'm sure their supporters will expect a good vote-what could go wrong?

I wouldn't expect much above 4-5% but you never know.

    Lab - 996
    C - 160
    UKIP - 76
    LD - 52
    BNP - 52
    Green - 51
    Ind - 19

    Lab - 70.84% (+23.71%)
    C - 11.38% (-4.80%)
    UKIP - 5.41% (-1.44%)
    LD - 3.70% (-20.83%)
    BNP - 3.70% (N/A)
    Green - 3.63% (+0.84)
    Ind - 1.35% (N/A)

Reasonable result for UKIP finishing third albeit with a lowish percentage. Disaster for the Lib Dems and a cracking result for Labour.

Very well done to Chris Cassidy in coming 3rd in what is not known as strong UKIP territory.

It's certainly another interesting result for UKIP and BNP (for different reasons), in the light of the similiar result in Oldham East where the former out-polled the latter by some substantial amount.

UKIP seem to be absolutely cementing themselves as the 4th national party.
