    Default a radical suggestion...

In Guildford we have two wonderful candidates:
Ann Milton (25 years as a nurse) for the Tories and Sue Doughty (general local good egg) for the Liberals. Wouldn't it be nice if they could share the seat? We would get two MPs for the price of one (literally as neither claim any expenses).

Do any candidates ever share their victories with other candidates?

1 MP = 1 seat and both represent Europhile partys, who cares who wins.

    rjt,
don't be like that, Ann spent ages "saving" the Royal Surrey Hospital and Sue used to come and open school fates etc for years while in the political wilderness. Both candidates deserve to win - they have put the effort in and are wonderful people. Why can't they share it (openly / secretly).

Ann is called a saint by insiders as she claimes ZERO expenses..... Sue was the same when she was in.

    Rjt,
The country for an MP is their consituency feeling. Guildford, mid way between Gatwick and Heathrow is very Euro-centric. It would be a sell out to be anti-Europe.
You are making cheap political points at the expense of two hard working women who want to do the best for Guildford.

If Guildford wants to elect a Europhile it is up to them on that we can agree.

it has been my experience that people who are anti-europe tend to be either racist or very very very old or slightly cranky or suffer from a slight inferiority complex.

people who tend to be pro-europe tend to be people who travel widely, speak many languages and are confortable in being British - they tend to think we have nothing to fear from being at the heart of europe as they tend to feel their nation is safely the best by a good distance. Its no surprise that the UKs largest vinyard is just a few miles down the road:
English Vineyard, Surrey - Denbies Wine Estate

It is not quite so simple as anti or pro Europe. I am pro trade with Europe but anti political control by Europe. I agree with the Euro-sceptic party aims but would prefer the whole Euro state to be dismantled rather than just pull out and risk trade isolation.

Well I am 39 year old civil servant with an Asian Sister in Law a good friend who is a jamacian, I dated a Pakistani Girl when I was 15 and a West Indian one when I was 25. I enjoy singing in a church choir. You make the judgement.

Now let me guess, you probably graduated less than 5 years ago after 15 years of state programming about how good europe is and how Islam is such a wonderfull peaceful religion of tolerance (which you believe cos half your Uni chums were foreigners).

You probably have a Suit Job spending 100 hours a week away from home and being paid 1 and half times avg national incomme, which makes you think your clever, but you don't realize your getting paid less per hour than a Wetherspoons Bartender.
