To say sorry for what, exactly? Calling her a bigot or for telling Jeremy Vine "If I said it, I'm sorry"? I think his "IF's" are outdoing his "BUT's" in this election.

Letting off steam is it? I call it grumpy rudeness. This spokesman is obviously one of those aliens Professor Hawkins tells us not to mix with.

ITV news said that he was contrite. Well with that big sleazy grin on his face saying that he was sorry, to me, it just smacked of being two faced again. If he was being contrite then you don't grin like a monkey cracking jokes about being "a repentant sinner". And what does he mean by misunderstanding the woman's question? Blah. Pathetic, two faced idiot.

I've been in politics for years and have never seen such a false smile. Even Blair looked sincere when he was telling porkies.

Having thought about it, it seems that it was more of a "I have extricated myself from this hole thank you very much, so **** you and look how clever I am" smile to the press and everyone else.
