Some of us are losing patience as we see our parliamentary democracy given away to the EU, and this generation allows our beloved England to be trashed and ruined.
We need to change the political game and hence the way we are ruled. In particular, I wish to have all candidates for elected office in England both declare their personal loyalty to England and to commit to the revival of the English Parliament. Rather than wait to gain agreement from representatives of the entire English nationalist community, and spend far too long quibbling over the wording, I have therefore worked with Marcus Stafford (who is a very good web designer) and others (such as Richard Aitkins) to set up a functional website which contains the almost direct English equivalent of the Scottish Claim of Right. In the drafting of the Claim, we have sought to gain consent both to the setting up of an English Constitutional Convention and an English Parliament. We have not used the word “Independence” in the Claim, as this would not command the wider support that some would wish to see, and for which I and others will separately campaign. The purpose of the Claim and the accompanying website is two-fold: it will allow loyal English electoral candidates to sign up to the Claim and to record this on their election literature (“Signatory to the English Claim of Right); and it will give the public in England the ability to challenge candidates who have not signed the Claim, and to question where their loyalties lie … if not with England! We will moderate both the site and the English Claim of Right generally to the best of our ability and impartially. Loyal Englishmen and women, of whichever party and none, who will at some stage stand for elected political office in England are most welcome to sign up on the website, and so have their name listed as a signatory on the website as a matter of public record. The address of the website is: English Claim of Right - Home The text of the English Claim of Right used on the website is as follows: The English Claim of Right “We do hereby acknowledge the sovereign right of the English people to determine the form of Government best suited to their needs. We call for the holding of a national English Constitutional Convention to determine the way forward for a revised constitutional settlement for England. We declare and pledge that in all our actions and deliberations the interests of the English people shall be paramount. We further declare and pledge that our actions and deliberations shall be directed to the following ends: To assert the right of the English people to live in a sovereign nation state of England, free of foreign control; To agree a scheme for an Parliament for England; To mobilise English opinion and ensure the approval of the English people for that scheme; and to assert the right of the English people to secure the implementation of that scheme." (ends) We are hoping that all candidates for the English local elections (including those for London Mayor and the London Assembly) this 1st May will sign up. We apologise in advance if the website crashes under the demand, or having received their emailed request via the website, it takes us some hours to get their name up as a signatory. Happy St George's day

Good to see your post here. That wretched "n" was taken out of the text several times but seemed just to creep back in. It is now out again and on the basis that people have signed the Claim without the "n", it will stay out! Kind regards, Andrew

Good to see you back - holiday was it or something?
I am very impressed with the website too, and still believe that under the constitutional status quo, we will not be leaving the EU in the foreseeable future. But give us an English Parliament and the shake up in personnel, attitudes, behaviours and policies that this might bring, and I still think there is a much higher possibility of our quitting the EU. Time will tell, but we welcome every signature to The English Claim of Right. The Claim must be the stuff of Mr Brown's nightmares! Regards, Andrew

Just over 500 individual registrations have been made on the site in the first 24 hours. Three just came in while typing these words.
It looks like most of the officials in the cross-party CEP have signed up. We have just started to write to our MPs asking them to sign up to The English Claim of Right. So far, no other national media organisations (other than The Telegraph) have mentioned the Claim. They will! Please do feel free to sign and to recommend the site to any of your email contacts who alos wish to see an English Parliament. If it was good enough for Scotland to have her "Claim" then it is certainly good enough for England to have "The English Claim of Right".

Was there a demand for a Scottish Parliament in the Scottish claim?

To save your time, I record the Scottish Claim below, and you will notice how closely we have modelled The English Claim of Right on it: The Scottish Claim of Right states: "We, gathered as the Scottish Constitutional Convention, do hereby acknowledge the sovereign right of the Scottish people to determine the form of Government best suited to their needs, and do hereby declare and pledge that in all our actions and deliberations their interests shall be paramount. "We further declare and pledge that our actions and deliberations shall be directed to the following ends: To agree a scheme for an Assembly or Parliament for Scotland; To mobilise Scottish opinion and ensure the approval of the Scottish people for that scheme; and To assert the right of the Scottish people to secure the implementation of that scheme."
