Gary Green, Con, 834, 38.8% HOLD.
Nicky Turner, L D, 781, 36.3%
Nigel Rozier, Green, 231, 10.7%
Duncan McPherson, Lab, 190, 8.8%
Christopher Streatfield, UKIP, 114, 5.3%
….Con councillor resigned.

IN THE BY-ELECTION HELD LAST JUNE UKIP GOT 9.3% OF THE VOTE.

This is the result of the bye-election last June 2007:-

Con 628
LibDem 431
Lab 317
Green 296
UKIP 185
Ind 132

In 2008 UKIP vote dropped to 114

71 less votes!

Or 38.4% drop in people voting UKIP.

It looks like that the media promotion of UKIP isn't doing either of them much good.

Doesn't bode well for Conservatives, Labour, Green and UKIP. Does bode well for Lib Dems. Or more likely one individual by-election result with local issues (such as the quitting tories) leading people to vote in a particular way.
