I think the problem lies in the media. People believe anything, as long as it is in the paper or on the TV. If we aren't mentioned, we don't exist. |

Take the example of public toilets. It cost nothing to **** in a back alley or a doorway at night, so why worry about provision of public toilets. The people who have to paddle through **** to get in and out if their doorways are rightly concerned but hey, they are just a tiny minority. I know doorways in my local town on a Friday where 100 blokes probably have a ****. 100 satisfied blokes or one shop keeper complaining? No contest 100 people will keep voting with their bladders. UKIP are the lone shop keeper complaining about the EU, the vast majority are ******* in the doorway and couldn't care less. Until the EU affects people at a personal level then they don't care and never will. This is also why fewer people vote in General Elections and why local authorities are finding it harder and harder to get Councillors. Not even all UKIP Members care that much. Take out a few hundred activists and I'd bet UKIP would collapse. We reportedly have 18,000 or 20,000 or however many members and yet we struggled to get 1,000 candidates in May 2007. All you have to do to be a Candidate is get 10 signatures on a form and hand it in at your local council with a letter saying you agree to be nominated. Simple, but 90% of UKIP members were too busy, too old, too tired, too disinterested to make the effort. In May there were 1,000's of safe Tory seats with no Labour Candidate and visa versa. That’s because the majority of Labour, Tory and Lib-Dem members don’t really care either. If UKIP had stood in more seats than labour or Tories or Lib-Dems then that would have been something the media couldn't have ignored. In May 2008 there are 4,000 seats up for grabs. UKIP should be standing in every single one!! Now there is a story the media couldn't ignore. "UKIP fights more seats than the Tories" that's a headline!! But it will never happen. Until the EU comes round and personally ****** through someone’s letter box not just once but over and over again then the EU will not be an issue too the vast majority of people in the UK. |

It should be quite obvious to us all that UKIP have been deliberately ignored by the Lib-Lab-Con and thus the media follow their lead.
We must make our own headlines,we must creat interest in UKIP by going out there and making a case for what we are about, and for what we stand for. These tactics by the "OTHERS"have been very succesful in neutralising our cause. We must now begin to speak more often and much more loudly too. The "OTHERS"are obviously unable to attack us or they would be doing so endlessly, they cant pin anything on us unless some fool brings us into the picture by doing something stupid or criminal, this is what really frustrates them who are against our cause and for the corrupt EU. |

Tamashi says..."Until the EU affects people at a personal level the voter dont care about the EU & never will "
The obvious answer to that ( if UKIP wants votes) is one of the high priorities for UKIP to be material & campaign to explain how the EU massively affects their personal interests & how UKIP is relevant to a solution, particularly in local elections on local costs and local macro issues. Not only does not UKIP even try to do this, it is opposed to the idea on ther grounds that it has enough potential votes already from the converted & doesnt need to waste effort on getting the newly enlightened to win ( I am not joking) Hence since UKIP was formed millions of kids have left school with no historical baggage of the EU & no idea what the fuss is about & no school pack from UKIP. |
