Default Campaigning...Quality not quantity?

I feel the best straegy for those on a shoestring campaign budget is:

1) Keep the message short and sweet

2) Use plain English ie don't use Euro babble such as 'Corpus Juris' ECJ etc etc etc

3) Target leafleting

4) Publicise yourself as much as possible with letter writing to the local paper

Hopefully all reading this post will be saying "he's stating the ruddy obvious" but as an illustration of wasted time effort and money see this:

All tips are very useful, we never stop learning, another couple of ways which may help, when you park your car whilst out shopping, why not display leaflets on your windows, short and direct. One other, many corner shops have boxex where you can display things for sale, baby sitting services and lots more, ther's always people around looking at them and for less than 50p a week it's dead cheap advertising for an A5 leaflet.

And don't forget to mention other issues apart from Europe! Most people don't really care about the EU; their main issues are health, the economy, policing, etc. It is key to tell them that UKIP also has strong policies in these areas, as well as of course linking in that leaving the EU will give us far more money to spend on these things.

I like the idea of A5 notes on the boards,

How about

"FOR SALE,

Health service, rights, economy and YOUR MONEY!

to the lowest payer, Europe.

DON'T GET SOLD OUT.

VOTE UKIP"

and make sure the local candidate's name etc is clearly shown on it.

I know of someone who, when parking in a public car park, leaves a load of leaflets on the bonnet of his car with a notice, help yourself.

I have been canvessing in my local area and I am really surprised how long it takes. Some people, quite rightly, will keep chatting for ages, getting all the details while you are freezing. I think there is now a real interest in UKIP and especially after Howards mess up with immirgration policy - he has been sussed at the first fence. They want to vote for change -UKIP, will give that, but the personal touch is needed. If only we were all ABs! And contry to other threads, the Position Statement is a good document to hand out.

Lets be positive - We will win.

If you have read that post do the calculations:

Quote:
In Rochdale people voted as follows: Labour, 15,719; Liberal Democrats, 14,658; Conservatives, 11,550; UK Independence Party, 7,015; British National Party, 5,949; Liberals, 2,975; Green, 2,957; English Democrats, 1,255; Respect, 882; Pro Life, 341; Alan Neal, 332; Countryside Party, 291. Spoilt ballot papers: 364. Turnout 42.8
UK Independence Party, 7,015;

British National Party, 5,949;

Liberals, 2,975;

English Democrats, 1,255;

I think It is called Splitting the votes:

everybody has their own agenda but I think the UE sceptic vote was SPLIT

So Wake up ROCHDALE and make UKIP MAN RICH!
