Default Crewe called for the Conservatives

The Tories stated on the by-election TV coverage that they expect a 6000 majority based on the current piles of vote slips.

That's it then. We are getting a Tory government, who will lock us into the EU forever, maintain high tax socialist policies and finally end the notion of a country called England.

Game, set and match.

The Tories are advocating tax cuts. Of course the scope of what they can achieve will be limited until they can sort out the mess that the public accounts are in.

Well once the EU is in place and we are living in hell! maybe the public will wake and up realise they have been CONNED big time and that they should have used their brains instead of listening to the media.

Thank you!

UKIP put up two good candidates in the London Mayoral election and this By-election respectively. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the English Democrats' mayoral candidate, but they put up a decent candidate in Crewe & Nantwich.

None of those candidates - and others - received anything approaching acceptable media coverage! Democracy in England has been significantly diminished in consequence.

Should we expect better from a government dominated by individuals unable to organise elections in their own backyard? I refer to the tens of thousands of ballot papers spoilt in last year's elections for the Scottish Parliament over which Douglas Alexander presided as the relevant minister in the British Parliament!

Those acquainted with the practicalities of election campaigns will be aware that, by rushing this by-election, Brown & Co limited the ability of small parties and Independent candidates to maximise their campaigns by reason of the Postal Voting system vastly increased by Nu Labour! This means that many voters will have cast their votes before less well resourced and less well organised parties are able to disseminate their literature.

Given that Nu Labour contrived to gain advantage by a shortened election period, one might conclude that, had the election been permitted to take place over a longer period, the result would have been much worse for the Government! To this extent, the resulting Labour vote may be deceptively and misleading high!

I wonder what was the total number of Postal Votes cast?
