...but as we all know 'leadership is not a popularity contest', hence democracy being a popularity contest never produces leaders.
The leaflet is a disaster. It says plainly and clearly that UKIP does not pay attention to detail. I would sack the 'proof' reader. Why can we not recruit a single literate or numerate person to check our leaflets? If you think that 'EU policies are closing Post Office - Put a stop to it!' is good English then you went to a cr@p school. I don't know what the writer is trying to say, but think it is either: 'EU policies are closing post offices - put a stop to them!' or 'An EU policy is closing post offices - put a stop to it!'. Post offices is plural and not capitalised, IMHO, whilst it's either a policy or policies with a matching subsidiary clause. In fact it's not quite right as everyone who has the latest Private Eye will know. The Germans and Dutch aren't implementing the directive until 2013. It is, yet again, the UK government who are gold plating the directive and leading the rest of the EU in its implementation. Blame the Labour cabinet! (Imperative correctly used.) The fortnightly refuse collections are not billed as such; normal waste is collected one week, recyclables the next. They are not universal - both my recycled material and my waste are collected weekly as the decision lies with the local council. The decision is made by the local council, in conjunction with their contractors, and has nothing whatsoever to do with the EU. Again the decision to incinerate excess waste lies with local (county) councils, although there is pressure through landfill taxes. It is possible to hit EU led recycling targets, which we would probably retain even if we left the EU, by good management. We can't blame poor management on the EU when it is down to our own local authorities. Stopping mass EU immigration is laudable, but ask the French, Portuguese, Italians or Spanish about the millions of Brits who have bought land and homes in their countries and have forced up property prices so that many rural areas no longer have a native population. Robert Kilroy-Silk (Spain), Godfrey Bloom (France), UKIPMan (France), George Galloway (Portugal), both of my brothers (Germany) and hundreds of thousands of others are typical of first or second home owners. If we remove the right to settle or work can we be certain that the other countries will not dump 1 million disgruntled and homeless pensioners on our doorsteps? I thought the policy was more sensibly presented as 'one in, one out'. It's a simple leaflet aimed at the lowest common denominator and is lighthearted, but will not win votes, IMHO.

Anyone forming a queue to give Nattras a poke?
You would need a bag to put over his head... ...perhaps two bags in case his one fell off? He has a fine pair of baps!

The leaflet could have been very good and got attention from people and the media.
On the matter of the number of British people living in Spain, Portugal and so on, that is (or should be) a matter for the people of Spain, Portugal, etc. In Spain UK ex-pats were welcomed long before Spain was in the EU, presumably because Brits brought wealth in, stimulated development, and didn't take jobs from the locals. |

Is this a leaflet or a poster? Have many been distributed? Any feedback from the public yet? It is very hard to judge what will appeal to people in advance.

Sorry guys, but this is **** poor. Are you really putting this through doors?
If so, I expect a record low result for UKIP.
