Default Purging The Party of Dissent

Tory Rascal has an interesting post:

Let's Agree to Disagree, Shall We?

The party is now requiring candidates to fill in a form asking them if they disagree with party policy. This is actually a perfectly rational response to the situation that the Conservatives find themselves in where the media jump on the tiniest of disagreements in the party and blow it up to a major rift.

However, there are many Conservative Associations that struggle to find enough candidates for local elections and this will probably make it even harder. I predict that these forms will end up being faked. The author already points out that the answer they are most likely to get is "I agree with everything".

The electorate meanwhile just get more bland, identikit politicians without any strong opinions on anything.
I learned to love Big Gay Brother. In time you will too.

I shudder at what the Conservative Party has become. When the country is crying out for 'conservative' values, Dave campaigns on the centre, ideologically. He aims to trump Brown by MPs' expenses and 'decisive' action. That is what happens when you have policy units staffed by graduates from Oxbridge in PPE, etc, providing political opinion. They would rather consult their books to see what the great political philosphers in ancient times thought, when they should be in council flats in Moss Side to see how things actually are.

That's because they get their ideology and credentials from DEMOS, the Marxist thinktank. Just shows that the LibLab really are a Con!
