It was the Spectator annual awards, under Boris' editorship! They were impressed that while the elections for speaker descended into potential fiasco, Heath, as "Father of the House" (longest serving MP), and responsible for overseeing the election, kept his cool.
The Telegraph quotes me - as a Heath Burner - when he died: "we'd planned 400 bonfires, for the 400th anniversary of Guy Fawkes, but then he went and died - he always did know how to spoil a good party"
