I know that Patrick Mercer was a bit the worse for wear but...........
And the Conservatives have cancelled their Spring conference !
First time it has been cancelled since Second World War.
All a bit odd.Apparently they say that they are short of money but they are not.
Well it was reassuring that political correctness does not exist in the army! I like a man who says what he thinks. Something seems to be brewing in the Tory Party. A lot of Tories are very decent intelligent people, but their leadership is abysmal. I have been spending some time chatting to a few on Conservative Home and there is very little difference between what they say, what the Telegraph readers say and what most of the right-wingers on here say. At some point I think the bubble is going to burst. Mark Pritchard is one I recently acquired respect for. That 1922 Committee is a good idea, because it gives a voice to the backbenchers, and they are on a roll at the moment. It's as if you have two types of Tory. You have the ones that have been brainwashed by socialist tripe and you have the others. For an example of the former I read an article by Tim Montgomerie claiming capitalism must be restrained. He calls himself a conservative Conservative, but its all fake. Some oxymoron he was peddling in the same article was 'social conservativism'. God help us if this gets taken up. It’s amazing what a brainwasher can do these days. These idiots don’t even recognise when they are being brainwashed. If anyone in my life tried to brainwash me I rip their heads off for all to see.
Capitalist Class Hero
Please help for I cannot perceive of a scenario as to why Cameron would resign?
Basically all of his reform programs are hitting fierce resistance [he tried to do too much at once] coupled to:
David Cameron: our plan to cut debt is failing - Telegraph
Boris was on C4 News last night - certainly sounded if he was positioning himself as an alternative.
Unless Merkel has said he has to go and be replaced by Clegg as she wants an Eurocrat running the UK![]()

The 81 Conservative referendum rebels represent the views of the true blue Conservative Party up and down the country. While David Cameron and his front bench ministers are the ones that are out of step with the true core values of Conservative Party members.
David Cameron was only elected Conservative Party Leader by party members because he claimed to be a eurosceptic. But since becoming Prime Minister his views on Europe have got softer and softer, and many Conservative Party members are now losing patience with him.

It is certainly looks as if Merkel has a hex on Cameron - he has stood up to her in his demands that powers should be returned from the EU, and it seems he will get little or nothing. It does seem as if he is cracking over the financial transaction tax - that will cause a major split with his 'City connected' MPs.
you can't imagine what rumour will be described !I'm aware of all you say but I don't see why the rumour would be that he will resign in the spring when at this stage he has NO idea how big the backbench rebellion will be if it happens at all?
sometimes the best way is to keep silent !
