IC Wales reports today (brief edited extract): "A former BBC journalist was yesterday unveiled as the man to manage the public face of....new London Mayor Boris Johnson MP. Welsh-speaking Guto Harri, 41, has known....Mr. Johnson for more than 20 years after meeting at Oxford University. The deal to be the new Mayor’s Alastair Campbell figure was sealed over a drink on Sunday evening. He (Mr. Harri) left the corporation two months ago…....and had spent four weeks as an adviser to Zimbabwean opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai."

I'd wondered what had happened to guto. he got a bit side-lined by going to rome, and then somewhere else. I think he was hoping for greater things at the BBC. Oh well, Boris should help to raise his profile 110%!
