I think I prefer the Lid dems to anyone else. Labour suck and I despise the Tories in general.

Default Liberal Dims, europhiles

The Liberal Dims are europhiles.

I would always advise people (if asked) not to vote for them.

Actually Lid dems seem largely split on this. But I don't just choose on that issue. I personally prefer Greens to lid dems but they are a very minor party.

I always advise people not to vote Tory.

Back to Peter Hitchens:

Quote:
That sound you hear is the soft thud of my head beating against the wall,
as I try to explain this simple thing: The Tory Party is finished forever
and will never win another election. The grim reaper reduces its vote each
week, and it is not replaced because Tories stopped breeding 35 years ago.
It is Labour's ideal opposition, the only party Labour can always beat. The
worst POSSIBLE thing to happen at any election is a Tory 'recovery', which
will prolong the life of this useless, doomed party for yet another four
years of ineffectual opposition and lost elections. If only people had
followed my advice in 2005, and refused to vote for it, it might have
collapsed by now and there would be hope.
Thanks EA.

So how influential is Mr Hitchens. He tells people not to vote Tory. He tells people the Tory party is finished and there are no new voters. The Tories then get 44% of the votes cast, a doubling of their vote in London and control of former Labour strongholds like Bury and Nuneaton & Bedworth.

I don't know if Cameron will 'win' the next election, but a Labour Party led by Gordon Brown will 'lose' it. That's the problem in politics. People don't have a choice of winners, so they vote for the least worst loser. That is why Johnson is London Mayor and it might be why Cameron could be the next Prime Minister.

Hitchens got it wrong that Blue Labour are finished. That is the problem with him, he certainly sees the problems, but never comes up with solutions.

His stategy of just hoping they die on their own has failed miserably.

The term blue labour seems very strange as it seems to be new labour which has moved towards the Tories.

I'd vote for "Attila the Hun", if he were standing rather than the Lib Dems!

Far more worthy and with the credentials he had while sacking Rome just imagine what he would do to The Treaty of Rome

Probably not as bad as he was painted given the times

On Radio 4 Today programme, someone commented that Boris may bring down Cameron as Tory Leader. I don't think there is any love lost between them despite their old etonian roots.

I see Boris has already taken on a lot of Red Kens plans.

Installing more police state measures for starters, by introducing airport like hassle to trains.

A seamless transfrer indeed.
