Living in Sydney you will not have an idea of the growth in anti-Livingstone feeling in our capital city. There has (quite understandably) always been opposition to him and last week it had reached its highest point since he (unfortunately) become London Mayor in 2000.
I know exactly the feelings but clearly he is not universally despised. He was simply not prefered by enough to that idiot Johnson.

Whatever.

Socialist europhile Livingstone is out () and lefties whining about his defeat is predictable.

Are you calling me a lefty? And to use the word socialist in that way is just silly.

It is quite clear you are very much the average tory supporter, you don't seem to be able to cope with attacks on them. The Tories suck get over it.

I don't support Livingstone, I just think he is marginally better than idiot, , fascistic, rightist Johnson.

"Not preferred"? He (Livingstone) LOST. There was a big swing to Conservative candidate Boris Johnson MP.

The number of people who voted Conservative in the Mayoral Election in the capital last week almost DOUBLED compared to 2004.

Boris Johnson got more first preference votes than europhile lefty Livingstone got in first and second preference votes.

Livingstone is a socialist. He says so himself. If you think usage of the word is silly tell him and not me: write to him and tell him at City Hall.

They'll forward the letter to him from City Hall .

Don't you? But you "prefer" him as Mayor. He wouldn't mind usage of that word instead of support - as long as people voted for him anyway.

Fortunately - not enough people did.

Good to see him get booted out of City Hall.

That is the same thing. Livingstone was not preferred to the idiot Johnson and therefore lost.

I think it is a slight shame, although Livingstone was little better.

He (europhile lefty EX-MAYOR of London) couldn't 'read the writing on the wall' regarding last week's London Mayoral Election though, could he?

"I will win again - I am ahead of Boris Johnson" is what he said late on Wednesday night of last week.

Yes I'd prefer to be ruled by Mussolini rather than Hitler but it is hardly support for him.

I do seem to sense you are at heart a true blue Tory Britannist, such a shame.

Not in my opinion.

You know the snide comments like that are really unbecoming Britannist.
