No. I want Johnson to lose.

Who rules over Scum City concerns me little but I don't want to see a boost for the Tory traitors.

There is no doubt that it be a blow to the pro-EU Cameron-Conservatives if Labour win the London Mayoral election on 1.5.2008. The victory for the Conservatives in the 1977 Greater London Council (GLC) election boosted Conservative morale and helped propel Lady Thatcher to victory at the 1979 General Election. David Cameron (who insulted UKIP in April 2006 and who has banned anti-EU Conservative MPs from being members of the Shadow Cabinet) will be hoping for a similar victory (as the Conservative 1977 GLC win) in the London Mayoral election next week (in which the Conservative candidate will be Boris Johnson MP) and for an electoral boost for the party he leads after such a win.

It would also be a set back for the Cameron-Conservatives if they fail to win from Labour the Crewe-Nantwich constituency (Labour majority 7078) in the Parliamentary By-Election to be held there in early Summer following the sad loss last week of eurosceptic Labour MP Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody.

A new ICM opinion poll out today puts support for Labour nationally 5% up and the Cameron-Conservative poll lead of 13% down to 5%. The poll also reveals that less people support David Cameron (37%) than the number who support they party he leads (39%).

Labour will welcome this increase in their support projected in the new ICM poll. For them - with elections nine days away and the Parliamentary By-Election in Cheshire not far off - it could not come at a better time.

"Tory opinion poll down from 13% to 5% - support for Cameron below that of his party"
