Default "Tory candidate 'A' list hopeful & ex-Coronation St. star quizzed by police (claim)

Actor Adam Rickitt, who was in Coronation Street for a number of years and who got a place on David Cameron's 'A' list of candidates for the next General Election, has allegedly been questioned by police in New Zealand after visiting a shop:

Brief extract from the Sunday Mirror article (first link in the last posting to this thread): "In 2006 he was named as a "prospective candidate" for the Tory Party, but put his political career on hold for the acting job in New Zealand."

Yesterday's Sunday People said (brief extract) "Rickitt made his Corrie debut in 1997 and last returned as Nick Tilsley in 2004. Rickitt had hoped to secure a Tory seat at the next General Election - but his political ambitions could now be over."
