From today's Observer (brief extract):

"Margaret is very flattered that Gordon Brown praised her" a friend said of Lady Thatcher's reaction when she read of how the Prime Minister had likened himself to Britain's Iron Lady at his Downing Street press conference on Tuesday. "She will be most interested to know when the leader of the Conservative party will do the same".

I am sure she is delighted, it reinforces the fact as Tony Blair admitted when in office that she got a lot of things right. The Tory government reduced inflation from 22% to 4% in 4 years between 1979-82, I cant thin of another government who would have been able to do that. Strict control of the money supply evne though it fueled unemployment was a new tactic and Lady Thatcher showed great nerve and detirmination in the face of massive hostility, not lest from the wets on her own side.
