Ghettoisation (is there such a word?) was heightened when councils stuck all the problem families in the same general area when they reinforced each others bad behaviour and the downhill slope got worse

On the other hand, my sister and her husband bought a brand new house on a private housing estate back in 1965 after living there for about 3 years there next door neighbours house went on the market, it was bought by the local council who put a rough as rats family in it hoping they'd raise their game. No such luck , within a few short months the house and garden was a tip, snotty nosed kids (they always know how to breed) running in and out of the dog **** (they always have dogs) in the garden!
