This was a part of a letter sent to her in reply.

Dear Caroline,

You have been one of our SW Region MEPs for so long and we have met
and debated so often we have learnt, as Conservatives, to agree to
differ.

We realise that, having earned a handsome salary, and none too soon
will enjoy a handsome pension, from the days you were James Spicer's
assistant in Brussels from the start of our EEC adventure, you owe the
'Project' a debt of loyalty.

Even so you had your doubts. When Sir James, as he is now, confided to
you at a Kingston Mauward meeting, "It hasn't turned out as we hoped
all those years ago," you agreed but since seem to have swallowed all
reservations to uncritically support the new Soviet you are working
for.

You don't even support the official Conservative policy, repeated only
the other day by the Shadow Foreign Secretary, "In Europe but not run
by Europe."

Are you really proposing political propaganda should be imposed on our
children through our taxes to the EU? Well perhaps it is consistent
with what one would expect of a soviet.

And what is this about EU citizens? This nasty concept, dating from
the bloody French revolution is a republican word.

In case you have forgotten in all your years in Brussels, our country
is a Monarchy and we are all subjects of Her Majesty, God bless her!
Quite apart from this you can surely only be a citizen of a republican
state and since when has the EU been a state?

If the UK Independence party voted against this; well done them! Of
course voters should learn more about the EU, which now controls 80% of
our activities, but this should be the responsibility of politicians
who won't talk about it, and the press; not brainwashing children.

Yes - after we were burgled we were told by the Dorsetshire Police our
silver and jewelry would have gone to the Continent that night. We are
only 25 miles from the Poole ferries. But what has this got to do with
adopting 'Corpus Juris', the abandonment of Habeas Corpus, double
jeopardy, trial by Jury and all the rest of our thousand year old
safeguards of the subject since Magna Carta in favour of adopting the
inquisitorial system, adapted by Napoleon to "Code Napoleon" and
imposed over his conquered nations. "Lock 'em up until they confess."
No thank you!

I remember her husband (Robert Jackson  , the 'Conservative' MP who crossed the floor to join Labour because they were more europhile) being a keen supporter of the Channel Tunnel during the passage of the Channel Tunnel bill through Parliament  .
