It's not that important.

There are a few people who can't or won't spell Aardvark, but I don't report them. I wouldn't worry about the deliberate misspellings, the individuals make themselves look petty if that is the best they can do to wind you up.
In normal circumstances I would agree. However, in my previous banning episode, mpdavies quoted me responding to other members where I had deliberately responded to them because of their corruption of Clippo ( Clipso. Clitto, Clippoo and many others I think). It's the start of a slippery slope because in their mentality they think it is critical pointscoring and hugely funny.

So I can call Hartlepool things like Hartlepoo or Hartlepooh without the risk of mpkdavies reporting me for abuse or insult ?

I would hope so, but you never know.

The problem is that, for me at least, points are scored by getting the facts right and disproving other's arguments if possible. Some people, however, are impossible to argue with since their facts are suspect or they take an aggressive stance when confronted with self-evident truths that they might have missed.

I steer clear of the E&E section for the most part because I haven't time to study the information at length. I keep to areas where I am more interested or have specific knowledge that allows me to be confident in my posts - even then I still make mistakes. I do, however, like to be corrected where the person has genuine information that is new to me and enhances my education.

I am trying to be balanced in my moderation, but some people don't respect that at all. I think I might sit on my hands for a few days and see what happens, but I'm not optimistic.
