Number of street lights in the UK:
Highway Electrical UK - Welcome

Approximately 8 million, being generous and including illuminated signs etc.

So 8,000,000 multiplied by 0.5 to get the total surface area: 4,000,000 metres squared.
Multiply that by 0.08 watts per square metre: 320 kilowatts.
Or approximately 160 electric kettles at 2,000 watts each.

And that's assuming the article's optimisation is achieved, as well, which they didn't sound sure about.
Also assuming that movement is somehow provided for all these to generate the power. Better hope for a strong wind.
Between the street lights, over the road, like a tent. You obnoxious little prat.

I notice, John (and as an EU opponent yourself you will have spotted this too), that many of the complaints being lodged in this Complaints section are from people who have shown - and continue to show - absolutely no interest whatsoever in the fight against the EU threat. This forum was set up to give an internet voice to those of us who want out of the EU - but we now have some europhile impostors here who appear to want to cause problems for the genuinely anti-EU contributors.

Those who tell the truth have a greater capacity to bear the pain it can sometimes cause.
Although in this case the insult levied against me isn't the truth, but merely opinion.

I concur Brit.

I strongly suspect they're lower level government counter-agents - all the signs are there - pro MMGW, pro-EU but trying to appear like anti EU.

Why don't we raise a petition with the forums top brass or have a democratic vote on whether to throw them off the site, or maybe stop them joining particular threads.

I'm being serious..

That may sound/be as bad as fascist labour, but it seems to me they are stopping discussion on purpose, and I suspect no-one wants them here except themselves.

Or if you create a thread, is it possible to block them off it ?

Maybe I myself would be excluded from threads too(I'm sure I can hack people off too), but I can live with that, if I don't have to deal with people that are stopping other debates on purpose.

Come to think of it, maybe it's too undemocratic, even idiots have the right to free speech.

Anyway tell me what you think.......

Stopping discussion?
Example please?

And personal attacks in a thread reporting a post making personal attacks. How very... amusing.

You could always put them on your ignore list.

I for one, would vote against them being 'thrown off' the site. In fact, I find the very idea of such a vote repulsive.
