I had written a reply which took 5 to 10 minutes minutes due to interruptions , when i came to post it i had been logged out

Is there a time out or something

Shouldn't be, but I did switch the URL from the IP address to the proper domain name. That might have caused it. It shouldn't happen again.

It should still post the message after you log in - vBulletin is very good at that kind of thing...
