eublues is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Why change?

While grateful to our founder for his efforts over the years, what is supposed to be better about the new look/format?

I am not keen on seeing fewer posts on the screen at once, and find the look glaring.

I've not noticed fewer posts on a page, check out a full one.
I hae to say it is a bit garish though.

This is the default skin, so vBulletin's thousands of users disagree. Personally, I'm not that struck on it, but I know that the technical side of things, vBulletin is much more secure.

Hopefully it will become more evident over time. vBulletin is a far better piece of software and will enable us to add in a lot more features that the old phpBB system couldn't touch.

It makes it a lot easier to deal with spam, moderate posts, issue infraction warnings etc.

Hopefully this will be the first step in some significant improvements.

I agree about the fewer posts issue, but that is probably just a matter of what we are used to for the moment. We had the same kind of discussions when we changed the phpBB software to the new format too.

Check out forums.macnn.com for a taste of what this new software can do (and how it can look).

Smile I'm in! Or on the new forum!

Boy, it took me a while to get onto this. I had to go back to my original email to reactivate everything. Then I got on. But at first I was knocked off five times and joined, on a temporary basis only, the Spammers Club.

I'll get used to it. This, by the way, is not really a complaint, just saying it was a surprise to see the change.

And where's my little rose gone?

Huge improvement. The other thing that is missing, apart from emoticons, is the ability to select text and apply bolding, quotes etc - or am I missing something hidden under a tab somewhere?

Regarding the posts per page: in your user control panel you can set it to up to 40 posts per page, something which I think was absent on the phpBB software.

Regarding the style, it's pretty bad, really. I thought vBulletin came with multiple styles from the word 'go'?

Also, I can't set up a custom avatar.
vBulletin allows you to forbid custom avatars or even all avatars; has something like this been put in effect?
