Default (174718)perspective as regards death

I am not a coward.
I am also not Feldoon.
I am also not in possession of an attitude that enables me to lie down and take insults. I think someone would do well to note that this is not Step Outside, and I'm beginning to wonder if that someone has any response worth giving my points.

Why was I dragged into that, please tell?

Although I do agree what Britannist posted was unnecessary and should be limited to Step Outside, he also failed to realise one thing, what happens in Step Outside stays in Step Outside.

At least I tend to keep it there whenever I'm not goaded into it.

EDIT: Since Elf mucked up his post; Link to reported post.

Default Avoiding certain posters to forum who create problems

Regarding thread 'Perspective as regards death' - Talk About section (my posting to that thread of 11.2.2007 at 11.30 pm):

I have not been rude, offensive, used any unaccepable terminology and nor have I breached any of the forum rules.

I simply told Phagocyte that in view of his/her attitude in the 'Step Outside' to me I am not responding to his/her points elsewhere in the forum (unless I absolutely have to).

I stand by that. I am seeking to avoid the problems certain relatively new posters (who don't appear to have any real interest in the EU issue, by the way) have brought to the forum - and intend to do so by ignoring their postings where possible.

'Coward' is hardly a word worth complaining about. My dictionary says it means "lacking courage". Not exactly an earth-shattering criticism.

Actually, from an outside point of view (bearing in mind I haven't touched that thread for a bit and thus don't really care for its bilge-esque content anymore), you seemed to be trolling with that response, with what was essentially sticking your fingers in your ears and screaming you're right whilst egging Elf on.

Which, for the purpose of not hijacking a topic, should be left to PMs.

"Ignoring their posts" isn't synonymous with taking psuedo-superiority attitude and replying to the posts saying "I'm not going to reply to you.". Bit of an oxy-moron, regardless.

Actually it can easily be taken as a direct attack considering there is, in no way, evidence stating Mr. Elf is, in fact, lacking in courage at all. And an accusation like that will be taken to heart by more sensitive people.

Although don't take my word for it, by all means. This is just my humble musing.

First off, Brittanist, I don't know to what attitude you are referring. I've snapped at a few trolling or otherwise irritating users in Step Outside and my language has been more heated than usual, but that is owing to it being Step Outside and not the rest of the forum. Refusing to respond to my points because of some weird grudge you hold on account of that seems silly, especially since I've made a conscious effort to maintain some level of decency and sense in my posts regardless of location.

If I have brought any problems to the forum, it has not been willingly. So I'm relatively new to the forum. Big deal. I am not uninterested in "the EU issue," as you put it, incidentally, or I probably would not be here in the first place. I'll speak on it if and when I desire to, and not before.

Coward is an insult in any language. Telling me I lack courage, if that was your intent, is a similar insult. I post in Step Outside when the threads I pay attention to are derailed to it, not because it it exists, and certainly not because I am in some way afraid of the rest of the forum. I'm reasonably certain that my recent post in Talk About Anything signified an interest in getting into issues in a forum designed for actual discussion.

I certainly hope any responses I make based on posts you make are not wastes of time. That is, I hope that the rest of the forum's denizens do not place a pejorative label on a man and use it as an excuse to disregard every subsequent word from his lips, regardless of merit.

I disagree with you on certain issues and points. That shouldn't bar us from engaging in respectful, thoughtful discourse, or from determining . If, of course, that is your intent as well.

Can I offer you my whole hearted support, a similar complaint ws put in about me when I made it clear I would not participate in longer in threads where someone I considered a troll (s) was posting.

I also note the particualr intrest certain trolls take in matters of a christian perspective but on many of the challanges facing Britian today they take a vow of silence.

Agreed.

Re the new members:

I doubt that they are the same person(Feldoon, Loki-kun, Amaris and Marie, however...), but I do however think they are playing the Devil's Advocate. Every long-standing member of the forum (as far as I know) has hated him since his infamous 'Jesus post', and his arguments are generally on of these: 'Appeal to *whatever*.', 'Stop breaching my yuman rights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111111111' or 'prove itzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!11'. Buck your act up.

You really don't know then.

Besides, I do question why you would wish to hate someone you don't even know. That's far too much of a waste of energy.

I dont hate him/her/they but I am not engaging with people who delbretely want to stir up trouble by picking issues they know are sensetive and reducing them to a slanging match. I will not partcipate in any any thread where Feldoon and his/her acolytes start causing trouble. If they behave in a civilised manner then I will reconsider. In the meanwhile I will simply post a message in that thread stating why I am withdrawing and invire people to PM me if they wish to talk about issues I have raised.
