Umm....that's not a very sensible reaction. He's launched a minor attack that'll take a short while to clean up. Big deal. You can't stop people posting it - that's the internet. Let it get cleaned up, then come back.

I disagree. The only way to not 'allow' it would be to have each post submitted to a moderator for approval before it went live. Something not really practical.
The pornographic and insulting posts actually make the anti-UKIP stance look childish, pathetic and degraded and, therefore as victim of the attack, the UKIP stance looks respectable. The posts have the opposite effect than that desired.

I bet you go and abuse people who have been burgled, for not standing watch over their homes 24/7.

Do you think it is likely that the moderators willingly allowed someone to spam attack the forum? When this kind of thing happens, it can take us a long time to delete all of the offending posts, so perhaps it would be more appropriate for you to thank Matt and the other moderators for their efforts in cleaning it up.

I have added a new tool that should make it easier for the moderators to cope in future.

There is no way of preventing spam attacks - it is simply a case of how easy it is to remove them afterwards. So please do be patient with us.

The stuff was on in different places on the Forum for several hours after it started . However it has explained to me that the Forum is not pre moderated, I accept that what seemed to be indifference by the moderators to the stuff sitting there concealed a battle for them to keep pace with a sustained attack. Presumably him & his electronic source is banned & so I am back in.
