The larger a private members group is, the less secure and more likely to leak it is.

Heck, the NEC is tiny, yet has leaked like hell since day one.

It also means when it does leak, you get a full dose of spin put on it, making it even worse. At least with an open forum, people know that is the case and have to stand by what they say.

Anonymous posters can be taken for what they are.

No, we have been debating on here perfectly well we might say things that people don't like but things are better said and addressed than left to fester.
Also on this forum there is no false perception of privacy so believe it or not certain things are not said, I personally know stuff that i wouldn't post on here because of this reason.
