For_England is just starting out
Default

If this is true, then there will have to be a new chapter added to the book How the Irish Saved Civilization.

The good folk of Ireland have done the right thing in rejecting this 'Treaty'. The europhiles (mostly silent at this time as No votes in the Irish Republic flood in ) never expected the No side to win the referendum at all - let alone by a clear majority.

Default Irish Republic, referendum, EU Nice 'Treaty' 2, europhiles, voter turnout

I understand that this is the biggest No vote to an EU 'Treaty' in the Irish Republic so far (in terms of actual votes cast - the voter turnout in yesterday's referendum was high and higher than in the EU Nice 2 'Treaty' referendum in the Irish Republic which was won by the europhiles).

Default David Cameron, EU Constitution Lisbon 'Treaty' referendum, Brown, Brussels

David Cameron, Conservative leader, just said on the BBC News Channel at 5.35 pm: (Quote) I am delighted with the news (that the EU Constitution Lisbon 'Treaty' has been rejected in yesterdays' referendum by Irish voters). By all rights the (EU Constitution Lisbon) 'Treaty' should be declared dead. The elites in Brussels have got to listen to people who do not want endless powers transferred to Brussels and endless EU Treaties. Brown (Prime Minister) must now stop pushing this 'Treaty' through - it is the height of arrogance for him to push the 'Treaty' through. If he persists he must explain why. We must have a referendum so we can put the final nail in the coffin of this 'Treaty'. (End of quote)
